With the emergence of Malvern Central's stand-alone websites
For Malvern Active, Malvern Weddings, The Malvern Shop and College Guardians, it meant that the previous Malvern Central website (which held all the information about these divisions) was unnecessary and could potentially cause issues in terms of duplicate or mismatched content, as well as the duplication of administrative tasks to keep the information up to date. However, two of the divisions did not yet have their own website - Summer Academies and Malvern Events. In addition, the client did not want to dispose of the established Malvern Central brand that clients had come to know.
So we set about with a redesign project to bring the website in line with the others. We re-built the Malvern Central website using the Content Management System Umbraco. We built a site that allowed the client to create a portal type home page that could either link visitors through to sections within the Malvern Central website itself, or could transfer them to the stand-alone website for each division.
The site design is clean and uncluttered, leaving the visitor with no confusion as to where to find what they're looking for, be it Student Guardianship at Malvern College (College Guardians), memorabilia as an ex-pupil of Malvern College (The Malvern Shop), an interest in the college as a wedding venue (Malvern Weddings) or fitness club membership (Malvern Active).
The new Malvern Central website was built using a responsive framework (the previous site was fixed width) bringing it up to date with mobile technologies and search engine requirements. The flexibility of Umbraco makes it one of our first choices for Content Management Systems.
