The warehouse technology sector is a competitive one with many companies competing for attention by showcasing their wares across numerous media.
In order to achieve differentiation and stand out for one of our clients - Chess Logistics Technology - we took the somewhat unusual step of creating a new character and series of cartoons that communicated the company's vast and proven expertise in the supply and support of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). And so Warehouse Wendy was born...
A sassy, forthright and intelligent woman, Warehouse Wendy is a tongue-in-cheek look at the trials and tribulations that some warehouse personnel face on a daily basis. The cartoon series starts with Wendy and her capable colleague - Celeste - taking the lead in helping Halfway Logistics achieve a more efficient warehouse operation despite the shortcomings and attentions of her dim-witted boss. The series then tracks Wendy as she selects then implements the Empirica WMS system from Chess and realises the benefits that the system delivers.
The company celebrates its newfound status as an efficient operation by changing its name to Full On Logistics and Wendy is promoted ahead of her boss and takes total control of operations. Following the development of 12 episodes plus a Christmas special, Wendy has now moved onto an Agony Aunt role, using her wit and insight to answer questions from industry colleagues. In addition to being featured in adverts, Wendy was also the centre of an e-marketing campaign and regularly achieved open rates of over 30% - far higher than previous campaigns before her arrival on the scene.
In addition she is now the face of the company's Twitter page and is regularly seen to make witty and insightful observations about the industry as a whole.
