Given the heavily publicised news from Google regarding their plans to emphasise mobile-friendly websites in their search results, our long-standing client 'Evolution Time Critical' needed to quickly update their suite of websites to maintain their already excellent SEO Rankings.
As of the 21st April, Google changed its search algorithms to favour sites that work well on smartphones and tablets. From now on, mobile-friendly responsive sites will move up the rankings, while non-responsive sites will head downwards. Google has always stated mobile friendliness is 'one of many factors' it uses to rank search results, but also warns that from now on it will have 'a significant impact'.
The previous websites were static HTML with no Content Management System to speak of, meaning it was laborious and costly to maintain. Alongside the re-brand, brochure update and other marketing material updates we were tasked to completely re-fresh the various websites whilst making it responsive, mobile friendly, future-proof and easy to update from an Evolution Time Critical Admin point of view.
As a result we chose to include an Umbraco 7 CMS making the new website fully editable by Evolution Time Critical Admin.
There are now two versions of the website - German and UK plus each site has the capability of being translated should other mini sites or landing pages be required in the future.
